On April 19, after going through customs inspection by the Huaihua Customs Authority, 10.5 tonnes of Mayang sweet oranges from Mayang Blue Phoenix Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. departed from Huaihua International Land Port for Malaysia, marking the first shipment of Mayang sweet oranges to the Malaysian market.

To ensure that this shipment of sweet oranges meets Malaysia's import standards, the Huaihua Customs Authority established a dedicated task force to assist the company in improving its quality management system, conducting risk monitoring for exported fruits, and controlling quality from the source. A "green channel for exported fruits" was opened to streamline procedures such as qualification filing, control system development, and export declaration, with dedicated staff members providing one-on-one assistance to facilitate export of the goods.

Lei Huaying, the company's spokesperson noted that the oranges are highly popular in ASEAN countries like Thailand and Malaysia, with orders steadily increasing. The company plans to further expand into international markets, including North America, Central Asia, and Russia, aiming to boost annual sales from 33,000 tonnes in 2024 to 100,000 tonnes this year.

"The Huaihua Customs Authority will continue advancing policies to facilitate export of agricultural products, fully supporting the local agricultural product industry's high-standard opening up and high-quality development, and helping more Huaihua's products go global," stated Wang Youhua, director of the Huaihua Customs Authority.

Huaihua's agricultural products, including fruits, vegetables, poultry eggs, processed grains, camellia oleifera tea seed dregs, and bamboo or wood products, are now exported to over 10 countries and regions. In 2024, the city's agricultural exports reached 1.255 billion CNY, marking a year-on-year increase of 121.2%.
